LDS Hymn Parodies - T

THERE IS SUNSHINE IN MY SOUL AT LAST
There is sunshine in my soul at last,
A joy I can’t disguise.
So glad that I have broken free
From Mormonism’s lies.
Oh, there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine
Without Mormonism in my life.
The questioning is gone for good,
Said goodbye to years of strife.
There is music in my soul at last,
A glorious refrain.
For I did research on my own,
And finally used my brain.
Oh, there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine
Without Mormonism in my life.
The questioning is gone for good,
Said goodbye to years of strife.
There is springtime in my soul at last,
The dreariness is gone.
For now, I know that Joseph lied,
And he was just a con.
Oh, there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine
Without Mormonism in my life.
The questioning is gone for good,
Said goodbye to years of strife.
There is gladness in my soul at last,
Such ecstasy and bliss.
For I have seen the false pretense,
That it is all amiss.
Oh, there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine
Without Mormonism in my life.
The questioning is gone for good,
Said goodbye to years of strife.

THEY, THE BUILDERS OF THE CENTER
Sung to the tune of They, the Builders of the Nation, #36

They, the builders of the Center,
Spent $5 billion as of now.
Lots of stores to do your shopping,
Nordstrom, Macy's, take a bow.
Building new exclusive condos,
Costs are rising as we speak,
Rising upward, ever upward,
This expensive City Creek.

Though they say no tithing monies
Have been used to build the Mall,
They must think we're really stupid,
Idiots, for that to fall.
They're transforming Salt Lake City,
Modern and extremely chic,
Doesn't fit the "Mormon image,"
This expensive City Creek.

Mormons Inc. is even truer
Than it ever was before.
Its net worth was $30 billion
In the 90's, now much more.
But they try to keep it quiet,
Do not ask and they won't speak
Of their many "wise investments,"
As they're building City Creek.

Such religious implications,
Christian charity they boast.
Pay your tithing, fill the coffers,
Profit is what matters most.
Helping people, so they'll tell you,
Aid the poor whose lives are bleak.
But the poor won't live in condos
At expensive City Creek.

Follow us or you will suffer,
So the Mormons tell us all.
No Celestial glory given
To the heathens who will fall.
But on Sundays, stores will open,
On the Lord's day, every week.
What examples are these Mormons
In their Mall called City Creek.

Word of Wisdom, so important,
Coffee, tea and alcohol
Are considered evil items,
Said to be a huge downfall.
But at City Creek they're selling
All of that, just take a peek,
Word of Wisdom out the window
Everywhere in City Creek.

Grand hypocrisy inflated
What the Mormons daily tout.
God's commandments must be followed
As they preach, and scream, and shout.
But don't point out contradictions
In their teachings, what they speak.
And be sure to never mention
That outrageous City Creek.

TRUTH IS THE BOTTOM LINE
Sung to the tune of Nearer, My God, to Thee, #100

Truth is the bottom line,
Don’t buy the lies.
Look at the evidence,
Not what they devise.
It simply makes no sense,
And there is no defense
For its complete pretense,
Use your common sense.

The Mormon Church is false,
Just a façade.
Given a deeper look,
Clearly it’s a fraud.
Though Mormons say it’s true,
Try to bamboozle you,

Tactics to ambush you,
Easy to see through.

Research it for yourself,
Just Google it.
Then you will clearly see
How it doesn't fit.
No matter what they say
As you they try to sway,
Facts all their words betray,
Simply say "No Way!!"

THE TRUTH IS MARCHING ON
Sung to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic, #60

I know that Mormonism is a massive stack of lies,
Although they will deny it, the deception’s no surprise.
In examining the history, there can be no compromise,
The truth is marching on.

(Chorus)
Just look close at Mormonism,
Show some common sense and wisdom,
Don’t rely upon the dictum,
The truth is marching on.

It is so clear to me that Mormonism is not true,
And I could not be happier I bid the church adieu.
After all the years of questioning, I finally got a clue,
The truth is marching on.

(Chorus)
Just look close at Mormonism,
Show some common sense and wisdom,
Don’t rely upon the dictum,
The truth is marching on.

But still there are so many who are trapped within the church,
Who listen to the leaders and won’t do their own research.
Who might think that all I’m doing is to flippantly besmirch
The one true church of God.

(Chorus)
Just look close at Mormonism,
Show some common sense and wisdom,
Don’t rely upon the dictum,
The truth is marching on.

I know that life is much too short to spend it feeling trapped,
And feeling like there’s something wrong with me who must adapt,
But I came to the conclusion I must leave before I snapped,
And now I’m finally free.

(Chorus)
Just look close at Mormonism,
Show some common sense and wisdom,
Don’t rely upon the dictum,
The truth is marching on.

THE TRUTH IS MY LINCHPIN
Sung to the tune of The Lord is my Shepherd - #108

The truth is my linchpin; please don’t tell me lies.
Don’t feed me deception, and tell me it’s true.
Just give me the truth and don’t try to disguise
Whatever the facts are, the truth will shine through,
Whatever the facts are, the truth will shine through.

I was born and raised Mormon, and just went along,
Whatever they told me, in faith I believed.
Though I had some issues, I tried to stay strong,
But then I discovered that I’d been deceived,
But then I discovered that I’d been deceived.

As I went through the teachings of the Mormon Church,
My mind filled with questions; it didn’t make sense.
And so as I studied and did some research,
The questions were answered, it’s filled with pretense,
The questions were answered, it’s filled with pretense.

THE TRUTH IS THERE FOR YOU TO FIND

Sung to the tune of Abide with Me, Tis Eventide, #165

The truth is there for you to find,
The lies can’t be ignored.
Deception and dishonesty,
It just might strike a chord.
Why don’t you research on your own?
The facts you soon will find.

(Chorus)
Just open up your mind and think,
To lies don’t be confined.
Just open up your mind and think,
The truth you just might find.

The truth is there for you to find,
The church just isn’t true.
The contradictions say it all,
Anachronisms, too.
Don’t parrot what they tell you to,
The Mormon Party Line.

(Chorus)
Just open up your mind and think,
To lies don’t be confined.
Just open up your mind and think,
The truth you just might find.

The truth is there for you to find,
Been closed off for too long.
Believing things that are not true
Is damaging and wrong.
If you don’t read the evidence,
You might as well be blind.

(Chorus)
Just open up your mind and think,
To lies don’t be confined.
Just open up your mind and think,
The truth you just might find.

The truth is there for you to find,
Employ your common sense.
It doesn’t hurt to use your brain,
It is your best defense.
Don’t simply buy what you are told,
Within the web entwined.

(Chorus)
Just open up your mind and think,
To lies don’t be confined.
Just open up your mind and think,
The truth you just might find.

The truth is there for you to find,
Forget what others say.
What matters is the way you think,
And not the games they play.
To live your life authentically
Is happiness to find.

(Chorus)
Just open up your mind and think,
To lies don’t be confined.
Just open up your mind and think,
The truth you just might find.

The truth is there for you to find,
And Google is your friend.
Just research independently
And all your doubts will end.
To “just believe” as Mormons do,
Insanity defined.

(Chorus)
Just open up your mind and think,
To lies don’t be confined.
Just open up your mind and think,
The truth you just might find.

TRUTH IS THE SOUL’S SINCERE DESIRE
Truth is the soul’s sincere desire,
Honesty undefiled.
For truthfulness, we should aspire,
Deception so reviled.

Lies are a burden to behold,
Discovering the fraud.
The insight that deceits withhold
Reveal the false façade.
While Mormonism claims to be
The one true church of God,
To me it’s clear, so plain to see
It’s really just a fraud.

It’s obvious the Mormon Church
Is laced with lies, no doubt,
Disguised deceit, but through research
The truth I figured out.
History sordid, filled with lies,
Deception to its core.
For truth there is no compromise,
And falsehoods I can’t ignore.

But sadly, Mormons still adhere
To what they’re told is true.
The prophets false they still revere
Though they should say adieu.
Mormons are told to just believe,
And many go along,
To the deceits they are naïve,
Not knowing they are wrong.

Someday I hope they’ll see the light,
Recognize the disguise.
Finally see what’s true and right,
Everything truth belies.

TRUTH MEANS NOTHING
Sung to the tune of Truth Eternal - #4

Truth means nothing, never did,
Lies are covered up and hid.
Mormonism, pure deceit,
False pretense, with lies replete.

All the facts and evidence
Show the lies, there’s no defense.
All made up, so very clear,
By the prophet they revere.

Joseph Smith, a charlatan,
Clever man, the tale he spun
Now lives on despite the lies,
Bogus doctrine in disguise.

TURN AWAY
Sung to the tune of Carry On, #255

White-washing all of the history,
We’ll make it go away
So the members will not know it,
And they will not go astray.
But if they should happen to find it,
The truth on the internet,
We’ll tell them it’s Anti-Mormon,
So they must not forget…

That they are out to get us,
Turn away, turn away, turn away.
Do not let them persecute us,
Turn away, turn away, turn away.
You must not doubt the doctrines,
Stay strong and simply obey.
When they slander Mormonism,
Turn away, turn away, turn away!

They’ll probably try to discredit,
The prophet Joseph Smith.
They might say that he invented
The church and it is a myth.
But if they should call him a shyster,
Or say that he was a con,
Remember what we have told you,
Turn away and carry on.

Oh yes, they’re out to get us,
Turn away, turn away, turn away.
Do not let them persecute us,
Turn away, turn away, turn away.
You must not doubt the doctrines,
Stay strong and simply obey.
When they slander Mormonism,
Turn away, turn away, turn away!
